We have now run 37 very successful Stafford Ecademy events and our next meeting will take place on the evening of Thursday 19th June 2008 starting at 7pm

This month your two great presenters are 'Book Wizard' Sue Richardson and Internet Psychologist, Graham Jones

Sue Richardson - 'Book Wizard':

Sue Richardson

The title of Sue's presentation is "Be Seen as The Expert - Publish a Book!"

Have you ever noticed how much respect published authors naturally command?

Is it any wonder? Many of us believe we have a book inside us, but when it comes down to it not many of us actually go as far as producing it! And yet those who do, and do it well, can expect considerable rewards. For anyone who has expertise in their particular area of business, a book is an extremely effective marketing tool, helping the author to market their service or product and seriously raise their profile and build their credibility.

Without doubt, the whole sphere of publishing can seem like a minefield. In this talk, Sue Richardson of Word4Word will uncover some of the mysteries of the publishing maze. What can publishing do for you? Where do you start? What are your options? And how can you be sure to publish the right book? The book that will make you look good and that people will want to read. Sue will look at these questions and provide you with some answers.

Sue Richardson has over 15 years experience in publishing, having spent many years as a freelance editor and then moving on to becoming a publisher herself in 2001. She is passionate about books and believes that everyone who feels they have a book inside them should have the opportunity to make their dream come true and become a published author.

Sue is a director of Word4Word, a company dedicated to creating wonderful books and encouraging and supporting budding authors on their way into print.

Sue is a born storyteller. Her passion for books is infectious and how she communicates that passion will inspire any budding writer to not only write their book, but to take seriously the business of publishing and self-publishing. Sue has all the facts to help all of us avoid the traps and get the most from our writing.” Ayd Instone.

Graham Jones (Internet Psychologist):

Graham Jones Internet Psychologist

The title of Graham's presentation is "Forget the Internet – and get more online business as a result"

Most businesses want their web sites to generate more income. So they concentrate on things like search engine optimisation and online marketing. Internet Psychologist Graham Jones will explain why this is all a waste of time. He’ll show you how to get more business from your web site by forgetting about the Internet...! Graham specialises in helping businesses understand the Internet from a human perspective. When you do that, you understand why search engine optimisation and online marketing does not work and why other, more human centred methods of promotion bring greater returns from a web site. Graham is the author of 15 books about the Internet as well as a dozen other business books. He is the Vice President of the Professional Speakers Association and a regular commentator in the media about all matters relating to the Internet.

Contribution - making a difference in the world as you learn!

As well as the benefits you will receive directly by attending Stafford Ecademy meetings, you will also be contributing to a good cause through paying a tenner on the door.

Each month, any monies left, once the room hire and coffees have been settled for, will be donated to a particular charity. The more people who attend, the more we can donate to a charity.

If you have in mind a charity you would like to nominate at any time to benefit in this way, please call Tony Burgess on 07989 469 570 and we may be able to schedule it in to benefit from a particular month's meeting.

Over the last couple of years we have benefitted quite a number of charities and as numbers attending continue to rise, we can donate more and more to good causes.

Isn't it great to know that as you network and as you learn you are also making a real positive difference in the world.

Letter to Julie French, Director of Academy of High Achievers Ltd in Feb 2007:

Dear Julie

Can I express a massive thank you for donating the money raised at Ecademy this February. We are so grateful that you thought of us and the donation of over £200 was just wonderful.

In addition to this I could see that the evening was a huge success and I really enjoyed it - it definitely gave me some food for thought!

Once again, thank you so much for your support; all your efforts really do make an important contribution in helping us to raise 85% of the £1.6 million needed to run the hospice every year.

Best wishes
